Municipal Drainage System: All developments are encouraged to provide drainage systems that exceed the minimum requirement of the town and, if they so choose, to provide drainage improvements that are of general benefit to the community as a whole and not solely required for the proposed development.

Storm Water Detention Ponds: Where storm water detention ponds are included in developments, it shall be the goal to have aesthetically attractive detention ponds. The use of vegetation, including xeriscaping and native grass-lined ponds and swales is encouraged, provided they do not interfere with detention and maintenance functions. Detention ponds which include minimal vegetation and large amounts of rocks, boulders, and unvegetated surfaces are discouraged.
