A. The operator of a snowmobile involved in an accident resulting in property damage of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) or more or injuries resulting in hospitalization or death, or some person acting for the operator, or the owner of the snowmobile having knowledge of the accident, shall immediately notify an officer of the town's police department by the quickest means available.

B. The police chief shall forward a copy of an accident report received pursuant to this section to the division.

C. It is an infraction for any person to violate subsection A of this section. Any person found to be in violation of, or against whom a default judgment has been entered, for any violation of subsection A of this section shall be punished by a fine of twenty five dollars ($25.00).
