Unless otherwise required by context or usage, words and terms used in this chapter shall be defined as follows:

ELECTRIC SCOOTER: Has the meaning provided in Section 42-1-102(28.8)(a), C.R.S.

ELECTRIC SCOOTER RENTAL BUSINESS: Means a business physically located within the corporate limits of the town whose business includes the rental of electric scooters.

EMERGENCY: Any situation where there is imminent danger of loss of life, limb and/or property.

INOPERABLE VEHICLE: Any motor vehicle parked or left standing on any lot, tract or parcel anywhere within the town which: a) is incapable of moving under its own power; or b) has a license plate which has been expired for more than ninety (90) days. A motor vehicle which is completely enclosed within a building in a lawful manner so as to not be visible from a street or other public or private property is not an inoperable vehicle.

MOTOR VEHICLE: A motor vehicle as defined in the Town of Breckenridge traffic code adopted in title 7, chapter 1 of this code, as from time to time amended.

MUNICIPAL JUDGE: The municipal judge, or any associate judge, of the Breckenridge municipal court.

NUISANCE: Any substance, act, occupation, condition or use of property which is:

A. Declared to be a "nuisance" by this chapter;

B. Declared to be a "nuisance" by any other provision of this code;

C. Declared to be a "nuisance" by the laws of the state, or by any court or agency thereof;

D. Known as a "nuisance" at common law; or

E. Which is of such nature and duration as to:

1. Substantially annoy, injure or endanger the comfort, health, repose or safety of the public;

2. In any way render the public insecure in life or in the use of property; or

3. Unlawfully and substantially interfere with, obstruct or tend to obstruct or render dangerous for passage any street, alley, highway or other public way. (Ord. 22, Series 1993; amd. Ord. 64, Series 2003; Ord. 24, Series 2019)
