B. Interpretation: The provisions of this section shall be interpreted in accordance with the following rules:

1. The "square footage of a building or structure" shall mean the amount of the density of such building or structure as calculated in accordance with the provisions of the town's Development Code1. (Ord. 9, Series 2001)

2. When the number of SFEs for a building or structure is to be calculated based upon square footage, the number of SFEs to be charged shall be calculated incrementally. For example, a one thousand two hundred (1,200) square foot restaurant would be charged 4.5 SFEs [(1,000 sq. ft. = 3.75 SFEs) + (200 sq. ft./1,000 sq. ft. x 3.75 SFEs) = 4.5 SFEs]. (Ord. 9, Series 2001; amd. Ord. 7, Series 2018)

3. The capacity of washing machines used in a commercial laundromat shall be determined annually by the Director.

4. If a water user is not itemized, such water user shall be assigned a water user class by the finance director from the list set forth in subsection A of this section. Such assigned water user class shall most closely approximate the property type and anticipated water usage of the water user. (Ord. 9, Series 2001; amd. Ord. 17, Series 2017; Ord. 7, Series 2018; Ord. 6, Series 2022)
