Notwithstanding the requirements of section 12-1-8 of this title, any building which is supplied with water using an adequate, safe and adjudicated well as of the date of the ordinance codified in this title may continue to use such well to provide water. If the well subsequently fails such that it cannot provide adequate and safe water, such building shall then be connected to the town's water system as provided in section 12-1-8 of this title.
