The town has adopted flood hazard mapping for the major streams within its corporate limits. The town is part of the National Flood Insurance Program administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). As part of this program, the town has adopted the "Breckenridge flood damage prevention ordinance." All drainage plans must show compliance with regulations contained in the flood prevention ordinance. (Ord. 3, Series 2022)
