A. It is unlawful and a misdemeanor offense for any person to knowingly violate any provision of this chapter. "Knowingly" has the meaning provided in section 6-3-5 of this code.

B. Any person convicted of violating any provision of this chapter shall be punished as provided in chapter 4 of this title. Additionally, upon conviction such person is liable to the town for such damages as may have been suffered or incurred as a result of the violation, together with any costs (including, but not limited to, attorney fees and expert witness fees) incurred by the town in the investigation and prosecution of the violation.
